Commodore 64 coming to Wii VC

For a split second, I thought "I must get a Wii!" so I can play all the old favourites. But then I realised how silly I was being. Best leave them as good memories in my head.

I thought exactly the same, except that I do have a C64 emulator here, which granted I've not loaded for years. Furthermore, I still have my C64, the disk drive, and all my disks here, and the tape deck and various tapes too.

Still, when I saw this post, I thought Coooool, like you, just for a split second, thought that I have to get one, just so I can play C64 titles on.
Hmmm, fancy a game of Sanxion now, and Delta, Armalyte, Hawkeye... how odd, all the titles I just listed were Thalamus titles... well, they did make some of, if not THE best games.

Ahh, great memories indeed!

V1N.

wonder if amstrad and speccy games will appear at some point? (i was a cpc464 kid, with mates who had the C64 and 48K).

The last ninja2:D

Oh yes. Add to that The Last Ninja, Wizball, Armalyte and many more classics.

It's a shame i have no intention of getting a Wii at the moment. However, i do have friends that have one, and one of them has a few thousand points to spend that used to crack C64 games when he was 12.

the thing with old games is the novelty wears off after about 5 mins. I defy anyone to play a retro game for more than an hour non-stop when they know they could be playing something from the current gen of games which are infinitely better :/

I wouldn't say that was entirely true........I can play SNES games for hours! But generally nostalgia is quite powerful and these games are never as good as you remember them to be. As has been said, best left with fond memories than realising they're not that good any more.

I would have to agree with this. Before I sold my my 464 a few years ago I loaded up most of the games but couldn't get into them. Head over Heals probably kept me engrossed the longest :)
