I have my first interview ever tomorrow, at a brand/web design firm in Plymouth.

It states that the interview should last roughly half an hour, which is a fairly long time (seems to be to me, anyway, judging by presentations etc) so I was wondering what are the questions they are most likely to ask? Hopefully having some answers in my mind for some of the more probing questions should help me out.

Just a quick bump for this thread, ive got a very important interview on tuesday and this may save me a lot of umming and ahhhing ;)

Thanks

What are you meant to do in an interview if you're one of the panel?:(:o

I'm meant to be interviewing people tomorrow and I don't know what's happening, anyone interviewed before?

If you're on a panel you'll probably be given some questions to ask.
All you're looking for is good answers and how the interviewee acts and looks.

Admiral Huddy's guide helped me a lot and helped to get me a choice of 3 jobs about 3 months ago.
Ironically I've turned the tables and interviewed about 80 people in the past 3 months.
At all 6 interviews I gave I was asked -
A time you used your initiative
A time you were really proud of what you did at work
A time you worked in a team
A time you worked on your own

Why do you want this position?

What do you think you can bring to this position?

What can you tell me about *employer*?

If you don't prepare for those then you're absolutely stuffed.

30min is long? pfft I had two interviews for my job totalling 2 1/2hrs!

Good luck :)

(Could be asked) If you were a car what would you be?

(Could be asked) If you were an animal what would you be?

LTTP here, and this isn't advice on what questions interviewers might ask, but a tip on how to respond to a technique many of them use.

When you get asked a question at an interview, answer it and shut up. Some interviewers like to say nothing once you've answered the question. Because of the silence, people can feel obliged to fill that silence. 9 times out of 10, if you try to fill that silence, you will waffle. And when you waffle, you're likely to say stuff you haven't rehearsed, and something might slip out.

It's a trap, and it gets a lot of people. Don't try to fill that silence. Answer the question and patiently wait for the next one.

Last interview I had (hopefully for my next job, I've had a verbal offer) was over two days. One set of interviews for 2 hours on the first day, then a 3 hour technical test and a 2 hour OPQ session.

Competency or Biological based interviews are fun. Mine was over two hours. It was more about why and how you took a decision rather than the specific outcome. I quite enjoyed it :)

Awesome guys, went for the interview yesterday and its in the bag :)

This thread and Huddy's guide helped a lot....
