Commonwealth games. Who's watching it

Damn those Kiwi's, they do nothing all year then turn up with their full game

Why we moved away from our patient game plan I don't know??

Oh well Silver is good and AR now can not ignore the young talent we have in the ranks. (good luck to the U21's for the grand slam)

Now all we need to do is get Varndell into the 4X100 relay team and we're laughing!!

Still no news on the Aussie player, but watching that lady following the stretcher off was very telling -its pretty damned serious :(
Hard to watch the final after that,NZ won it easy enough as we made too many mistakes, but after that injury it all seemed a bit insignificant somehow :(

England were beaten but NZ were the better team overall. Damn good match though, silver will do I suppose. At least the Aussies got nowt. ;)

Any news on Fava? It didn't look too bad, just a hard tackle, but the way he hit he deck and went into that fit was not nice at all, I really hope he is OK. :(

I must admit to a sly old oggle at the womens hockey earlier on. They're some sturdy girls and no mistake. I bet they could drink us all under the table. :)

The Australian Telegraph is saying he's still under observation at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. It's sad because he's been a real star in the Super 14's this season. The most upsetting thing was seeing his wife on the pitch and the panic on her face. Nasty, very nasty :(

I wondered if that was his wife, she looked shocked and very upset and understandably so.

I just caught up watching the Rugby 7's final via the BBC.

England were unlucky but the Kiwi's were a handful as expected.

I'm surprised Australia didn't progress any further than they did with the amount of superstars in their squad.

Been watching the Rugby 7s which is entertaining. England are looking good too, Varndell is quick

Tell me about it! ;)

I went to school with him for 5 years and he is a top bloke. I have also raced against him in the 100m on sports day once and he left everyone for dead and was a clear second faster than everyone else!

He used to be Tom Vandell-Dawes but I believe he has changed his name only quite recently.

Looks like Australias medal tally has gone through the roof :D

1 Australia 23 15 18
2 England 8 11 6
3 India 7 3 1
4 Scotland 4 4 3
5 South Africa 3 1 4
=6 Canada 2 10 5
=6 New Zealand 2 3 5
=8 Malaysia 1 1 2
=8 Sri Lanka 1 0 0
=10 Bangladesh 0 1 0
=10 Papua New Guinea 0 1 0
=10 Wales 0 0 3
=10 Singapore 0 0 2
=10 Fiji 0 0 1
=10 Isle of Man 0 0 1

I think one of the best (and most shocking!!) things so far this games is in the pool if you take just the mens competition England are first in the medal table Scotland are 2nd and Australia are a distant 3rd at the mo

That makes me happy.

They are missing a 'Thorpedo' though who would probably be worth a good 3 golds on his own ;)

You are right however that it is an encouraging sign, hopefully the results so far will inject a bit of confidence to the team(s). The boxing has been pretty entertaining so far from what I've seen so I'll try and catch a bit more of it as well.
