Commonwealth games. Who's watching it

I said netball was poo when the girls played it at our school.

It gets no better with 'world class' players.

Take the ball off them and just call them cheerleaders. Simple.

They are missing a 'Thorpedo' though who would probably be worth a good 3 golds on his own ;)

You are right however that it is an encouraging sign, hopefully the results so far will inject a bit of confidence to the team(s). The boxing has been pretty entertaining so far from what I've seen so I'll try and catch a bit more of it as well.

Grant Hacket and Micheal Klim are missing too ;) :(

ISLE OF MAN GOT GOLD!!!!!
I always thought they where an isle of scotland or england tbh :)

21 golds now, that's fantastic. Was glad to see Dean Macey got his gold, and Sotherton is going well in the Heptathlon as well.

Looks like the battle for Silver is the main one there. It looks like England could take both multi event titles and may even get Gold and Silver in the Heptathlon. 800m, the final event is about to start. Come on! :D

Womens Heptathalon:

Gold - Kelly Sotherton (Eng) :D
Silver - Kylie Wheeler (Aus)
Bronze - Jessica Ennis (Eng) - well done, she is only 20 and she came up with 5 PBs during the competition, a name for the future.

Good results, do you reckon that Jade Johnson was out there cheering Miss Sotherton on? ;)

I was pleased to see Dean Macey finally get the gold that he has threatened for such a long time, if that was him 70-80% fit though imagine what he could do if he ever gets fully fit :)

I'm really impressed with Scotlands performance so far and I think a couple of the boxers can do well in the medals hopefully. Its been a great games so far especially from the swimming team.

I am also very impressed with Scotland, their cycling and swimming teams have been awesome. I will even admit to cheering them on. ;)

No seriously, I will support ALL of the home nations. Although it is good to see the individual countries represented in a multitude of sports, I would prefer to see it just as a GB team so that we can at least have a chance at beating the Aussies (which is all that matters!) :)

Unfortunately, with the nature of the multi-events they never seem to be fully fit. Great to see Sotherton get a gold, and the bronze is fantastic from Ennis, becuase for once a British athlete has performed at their very best when it really counts.

England is doing really well, especially when you consider the amount of athletes we have to select compared to the likes of Canada and Australia.

Our size is a big enough disadvantage in the Olympics for great Britian. Cut us in 3 and its worse... :D

I watched the Boxing this morning, I have to say I wasn't all that impressed, there where a few good lads from welterweight and upwards but the lighter weights where awful.

If thats the skill level they need to get selected you may see be there next time round :D
