Communications direct ringing me on my phone?

How do rival communication companies get your information? For starters they think they know about you and your account and they basically don't.

like when they phone up and say "how much are you paying for your contract at the moment" and "would you be intrested in a free upgrade". well im not a contract user any more and havent been for 3 months but il have a free phone if your offering, the worst bit is thats my own phone company.

i got a call the other day on my MDA from some guy saying he was from t-mobile and offering a free upgrade as my phone was 12 months old now, I went yeah right ive only had this phone for a month

ive been having this a lot recently, especially from some welsh companies for some reason. Registered with the phone preference service though and all stopped --> touches wood
