US: Community!!!

Obviously you're watching a different Archer to the one I've been watching.

It's not terrible but it's not as good as it once was, 10 episodes in and only the last few has anything really happened. It just needs to find its feet again with the new premise.

The latest episode, while a good, fun concept, may very well have been the worst episode yet.

Didn't watch this week's episode. Likewise for the old claymation one.

I like Community's quirky humour but I find the different formats to just be a waste of an episode.

GI Joe ?

It was mildly amusing, a few funny references but that cartoon was way too american, don't think it even aired in the UK .

Abed is the worst character ever. Terribly annoying.

They've done what soooo many comedies do, start off with well rounded characters with one specific trait that makes them who they are. Couple seasons later(if lucky) the character is not well rounded but is ONLY that small trait blown up to massive proportions.

Abed was a sensible guy who knew he was a bit weird, to only being the "weird" part of his character. Then every storyline has to be him being weird somehow, gets a girlfriend but it has to be in a weird way and he has to like a weird girl and he has to be weird on the date.

The classic comparison is Friends, Joey was a normal guy who managed to live his life but did the odd stupid thing. After 3-4 years then everything he did was stupid, every reaction was being stupid, every joke he couldn't get straight away, every single story was written including him being stupid.

They've turned Abed in to a pretty awful character. Pierce was brilliant at first but they turned him only into the senile old guy, Shirley has actually never been very good, she's always been a bit of a crap character and hasn't changed much.

In terms of animated/odd episodes, a complete one off I could take, but the regularity of absurd episodes, and with the increasing amount of crapness and lack of originality they are becoming a joke. Boring episode, boring story, done badly.

Only the game world one has been really any good in any of the series.

Jesus, the first part of this two parter was bad, the second part was even worse.

The show was grounded in some kind of reality in the first season. Now there is no logic behind anything they do or anything that happens. Nothing makes sense, the jokes are out of place, and few and far between. They've replaced normal situation with genuinely witty or funny lines with absurd situations with not really jokes or wit but just daft lines, and daft situations which really just aren't funny.

Harmon came back, and the show got worse following the trend of the first three seasons. It started off great but got worse over time as Harmon completely forgot what the show was about in the first year.

You go back and watch the first series and it's a bunch of guys actually attending a semi proper college course in basically normal situations with good well rounded characters who were all very likeable(well, Mrs Jesus has always been crap IMHO). First series is one of the best seasons of any comedy ever, second hand it's moments, three was iffy, 4 and 5 have been on the whole, terrible.

Yea those last 2 episodes were quite bad, while I think season 5 was better than 4 those 2 episodes were not some of Community's finniest :(

I think there have been a couple of okay episodes in this season, but a couple decent ones last year, most rubbish though. Abed is awful, new Pierce is useless(the actor is decent, the role is awful), Shirley has always been the weak link and continues to be so.... you can do a "cute" voice and a batman impression.... acting range...

I think back to things like the drunk dial episode, nothing "major" happened. They didn't end up inside one of their delusion/mental breaks, they didn't have to have a campus wide game of something, it was just people being normal in the real world with classes, a party and a situation and it was a brilliant episode with interesting characters. Gi Joe... rubbish characters, not funny, not real, made no sense.

The paintball eps were great BECAUSE they were one off's. If the first paintball ep was now it would be a normal out there episode and have no where near the impact.

So so so many comedies do it. Paint ball ep probably the most liked in the first season(fairly or not) so now they want every episode to be the paint ball ep, every ep has to have some big dramatic not normal situation to the point the not normal situation becomes normal, and boring.

I guess you'll stop watching it then, right?

Well put.

Seasons 1-3 will always hold a special place in my heart - it's just sad the show had to fall so far.

Cancelled.

wow just wow I will watch the last few but this is like the 3rd program today I have heard cancelled !

I agree community was no longer funny for a long time loosing 2 main charactors and having people in there 30s-40s in college it just ran out of any stories left, they should have just given Alison Brie less clothing to wear every episode this would have saved the show for both women and men.
