Just came across MSE (http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/). The computer press are waxing on about it so I thought Id give it a try. Looks very promising and it has a nice KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) interface.

Am I correct in saying that my Comodo Firewall will not conflict with MSE? As far as I understand MSE provides protection against viruses, spyware & other malicious software.

Comodo provides the firewall only.

Reason Im on here asking this is because:

1. During installation MSE advised to remove any other security software to avoid conflicts and system-resource slowdowns.
2. Im unsure as to wether the Defense+ function in Comodo will cause conflict? Its not an anti-virus/malware function though is it? It just monitors .exe files?

I have of course disabled the Windows Firewall. Im on W7 Home Premium 64bit with all the updates.

Thanks for any advice :D

I have used MSE with Comodo on my Windows 7 x64 build and they have complimented each other well. I also have Spybot Search and Destroy running at the same time with zero problems.
I have started to use the Defense+ aspect of Comodo, but not the AV, and it works ok for me with it set to "Clean PC". However make sure that if you intend to use the Defense+ then check out their forums and learn a little on how to use it as it can cause some issues, especially with full screen games. You can also read a lot there on what to expect from Defense+.

I have now flipped over from MSE to the latest build of Avast 5 and that also works fine with Comodo.

So to summarise I now use Avast 5 with Comodo (including Defense+) and Spybot S&D. I also use Ad-Block and No-Scripts for Firefox.

Vimes - thanks for all that info mate, good to know :)

Will keep MSE and see how it goes, so far an impressive experience. Interestingly I got rid of Avast and went for MSE!
