I started a thread in the inter net forum about my crappy internet connection and it turned out with was Comodo Firewall.

Even if set the firewall and defence plus to disabled just having it installed seems to be enough to slow my net connection.

As there dont seem to be many decent 64bit firewalls i thought i'd ask for some help. I tried posting on the forums on the comodo web site but i've had no response in a couple of days.

Cheers.

Do you really need an additional firewall?

I find the built in windows one is fine for most things (i'm running vista x64) especially if you're behind a router etc

Yeah i just like to be able to see which programs are connecting to the internet and then block them if i so wish. Cant do that with windows firewall.

I had the problem on my 64 bit machine. Coudldn't find any decent 64bit Firewalls so gave up. I have AVG, Spybot and a Netgear router with a half decent firewall on it so Im not particularly fussed. So far, so good.

Commodo is working fine with Vista64 here.

I did run into a mega strange compatibility problem between Comodo and AdAware that stopped all 32bit exe files from running. Nothing to do with your problem I know, but it did lead to me removing Comodo and then doing a fresh install.

I know that recently one of the Comodo updates tried to do something 'clever' on 64bit machines, and required some sort of 2 stage update. I believe it was this update that was partly to blame for the problem I (And quite a lot of others) had.

Perhaps it is worth trying a fresh install? Have you tried this?

Have you always had problems with your internet connection sicne using Comodo, or did it work for a while?

I just sorted it now actually.

Previously i tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. This time I uninstalled NOD32 aswell before reinstalling Comodo first. Seems to have done the trick.
