Hi, looking to spend about £400 to replace my current PC that up until last few weeks was working fine but has slowly started to deteriorate so i've decided to upgrade.

I'm looking to buy:

Motherboard
Processor
Memory
Power
Graphics

Now i was thinking along the lines of the Abit IP35 mobo and the Intel Q6600 processor. Are these decent choices or are there better value options out there? I do a small amount of gaming, certainly not hardcore enough to warrant a monster gfx card etc. What memory, power, gfx are best value out there then that comes within my budget of £400 (could go to £450 if persuaded ;))

All suggestions are very welcome and appreciated.

Cheers Jak, couple of questions though, is the IP35 Pro worth the extra over the non Pro as i could maybe put the money saved towards a better gfx card? And is the power supply reliable?

The IP35 Pro is a good board, but seeings as your budgets only £400 it's maybe a bit too dear.
If the IP35 has the features you want, then go for it.
Are you looking to overclock this as that frees up some cash for a better cooler.

I'm definitely going to overclock, nothing too extreme so i won't be pushing it to its limits.

OK, how's this looking, is it all compatable?

Also, i could swap out the Wolfdale for a Q6600, would this net me any benefit at all?

i'd swap the 8200 for the 7200 and get the corsair 520w psu.

Right, just checked that and the differences in price offset each other. Good times. Cheers for the input guys, gonna mull it all over for the evening and probably order tomorrow. Feel free to chuck some more ingredients into the mix, i love a dilemma :D
