Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a cheap and cheerful point and shoot compact camera for my mum. There's so many out there at the moment, I've got no idea what to even look for anymore in that category.

Does anybody have any advice?

All the requirement is, is that it's easy to use and takes good pictures indoors.

Thanks!

Dave

I can't really help with any particular models but in that price range they'll all be pretty much of a muchness , like you say cheap and cheerful , best bet is to have a look on dpreview.com and see if their reviews can help you decide.

I've got a olympus D720 and the D750 is good too. My mate has a samsung pl221 the zoom is great, its about most you can have without the image getting too shaky. Make sure you get a camera with a lithium ion battery because i've found with my mums camera, which takes AA's, they don't last very long at all and spare lithium ones are only a couple of quid.
