Hi all,

I'm looking for a compact camera I can use when I'm out walking or maybe trail running. The sort of pictures I want to capture are landscape views. Although flexibilty would be good.

Models I've been looking at which all get good reviews for the time or price category.

  • Sony RX100 Mk1 (Some on ebay)
  • Panasonic Lumix TZ60
  • Panasonic Lumix GM1
  • Sony A5000
  • Samsung NX3000

Budget £250 max really. Happy to go second hand or refurb.

The camera I'm used to is either my One Plus one phone camera or a Sony A200 with stock lens.

I'm not really sure what is meant by compact these days but for portability I always like the look of the Nikon 1 J5 with10-30mm lens for around £280.00 . Great for walking but would probably need protection for trail running. Beautiful looking thing with generally good reviews.

Edit: Just noticed that Nikon.UK are offering £50.00 quid cash back on this at the initial price of £299.00 making it within your budget.

If you're just hiking then I find my m43 hear perfectly portable so something like the gm1 + 12-32 would be a great start. If you're going to be running then I'd go with something as small and flat as possible like the rx100.
