Compact Flash or xD?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but the minimum word length makes searching for xD a pain!

I've a got a new camera coming for Christmas which takes both CF and xD. I already know that CF is cheaper, while xD is a smaller format.

Aside from those points is there anything else to consider? Which would you guys choose and is it a case of just getting CF because you can get more for you money?

I'm forced to use xD and I hate it. Slow read/write speeds, slow transfer speeds when I want to move the pictures to my pc, and I keep loosing the damn things.

Go with CF.

i use both in my e500, simply because i had a 2gig d card spare and it came with a 4gig cf card, the xd is a little slower which can be a pain but you soon get used to it.

write speed with fuji's tends to be faster with xd's though

I agree my fuji prefers the XD card over the CF.

xD cards are slow, primitive, proprietary and I've had two different card readers kill two of my cards so far. Given the choice I'd avoid them.

Go with CF. If you end up with a mid/high end DSLR, its highly likely to be CF. Im having to buy CF cards now that im going to be getting a D300.
