hi. my g/f is about to start uni, and wants to go contract. ive noticed orange do students deals, 1000texts and 200mins for £30. avoiding 3, are there any better deals out there?

also, perhaps main concern is that we know nothing about the current crop of phones. can some kind people please recommend a good compact flip phone please? (remembering its for a girl - doesn't have to be pink but not too masculine please :)). good battery life, small(ish). having a camera is not a major issue. if its there great, but if there are better alternatives for her needs that don't have a camera, dont worry.

thanks :)

Vodafone student tarif, i just got one.

125 xnetwork anytime minutes, unlimited text and picture messaging and on an 18 month contract stop the clock, so evenings and weekends you can call for 60 minutes and only pay for 3 (i.e 3 minutes off your 125) cost £25 per month - Vodafone Student Better to go instore and ask about the phones as i got the 6680 for much less than on the web site.

Just got our lass a new silver Nokia 6111, not exactly a flip phone but it slides up kinda like the samsung D500 etc..

Very girly phone, she absolutely loves the thing. Got all the toys on it - camera, video, messenger, bluetooth, mp3, radio blah blah.. can get em in pink aswell.

The Motorola Pebble thingy phone is quite nice looking, also quite small. My sister-in-law has got one and it seems OK :)

I think one of the best flip phones ,if you want a cheap basic phone with long battery life .It's the Sharp GX25.It's got a good camera , takes videos as well as pictures , great easy menu , battery life is 10 days . I bought one from Vodaphone for £50 [its reconditioned ] but , is unmarked and looks & feels great . I just use it as a second phone as I went and bought a C500 a few weeks later.
