Compact Suggestion...

We're going on a pretty big family holiday this year (3 weeks visiting Canada, US and Iceland).

I want to try and record the trip on Instagram and I really CBA taking our SLR with us. Can you guys please recommend a great compact? It's been a long time since I've looked at camera tech and I have no idea what is decent now. Budget up to £1K.

Sony rx100 version 3 or 4. But will you need a long ish zoom?

I don't think so; most of the shots will be either close, or landscape based. I'll pop into Canary Wharf at lunch and check it out. A friend also recommended the Fuji X100T. Is that any good?
