Hey All

Just got my finger in one of those 359£ QX9650, (insteadt of Q9450), now I
have a slim-line midi-tower, not wider than a CD-Drive, and an Thermalright
Ultima 90i, that just accurate can be there, almost as good as 120 extreme,
and likely the best "compact air solution", but now having a QX I wonder if
there is any, not overly expensive, very compact, and effective water-kit ?

Cob earlyer estimated QX9650/ultima90i to likely do 4 Ghz, if a easy water-
kit could improve that to say 4.4 - 4.5 I would consider that positively, and
better safe a little on the motherboard, since IP35 or cheap P5Q is ok basic

I have the skills and tools to mechanical modifikations on the case if needed

thanks for any help

You'll need a god like QX9650 to do anything close to 4.5 with volatge that wont kill it in weeks, 4.2 - 4.3ghz will be the max clocks under water, anything higher will need a phase or cascade rig.

TBH i'd just clock it to 4ghz and use this this and this It will easly keep cool at 4ghz, You could also expand to a double rad and a bigger pump/ rez if you have the room.

In theory you're a prime candidate for something like the Swiftech Apogee Drive and and External fanbox eg. Aquacomputer Fanbox or Innovatek external cooler, but the Apogee Drive is almost guaranteed to leak at the joint twixt block and pump, so you could possibly look at something like a Swiftech 1U block and a Laing DDC pump, both of which are low-profle components. Link those with the external radiator and you have a very useful CPU cooling system, and it shouldn't be megabucks either.
