Hi guys,

I hate to add another 'what should I buy' thread but I'm stuck really.

I'm looking for a camera with some level of manual control but without the expense of a digital SLR (if I had the money I wouldn't hesitate ;))

I've been looking at many reviews of compacts but it seems that the majority out there do not have an optical viewfinder, which I think is crazy really.

I'm looking to spend £150-£200 maybe more depending on what's available. Can anyone suggest either a model or review site? Any sample snaps would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I assume you want an optical vf for manual focusing purposes? Most compacts don't have the level of control to allow easy manual focus. I've heard a few people complain about this before.

My Kodak DX6490 is auto only, and I get along fine with that.
