What is the claim rate?. I have just been offered a company hybrid car, but paying for the fuel. The company have informed me that I will need to claim back the business miles, but I dont know the monetary rate.

Mild hybrid, self charging hybrid, plug in hybrid... makes no difference. It is just petrol or diesel and the engine size that dictates the rate.
Exactly. "Worst of both worlds" generic comment aside, if you do moderate business miles and can score one of the newer plug ins with a bigger range you can pull in a tidy little tax free bump in your pay packet each month.
I considered it at the time but I think I should have gone for something with a 2.2 to get into the higher fuel rate. Only option in budget was a Kuga which I didn't really fancy but I'm not exactly wrapped up with the Astra in hindsight.

The newer long range PHEVs (like the 20kWh 1.5 engine VW offerings) that qualify for 6% BIK currently I think are going to be the last hurrah for PHEVs as company cars (given everything that's not pure EV will hit 18% minimum in a few years). For now though, for those able to charge them at home and with the right payback mechanism with work, they're pretty cheap on the tax front and you can make a killing on the mileage reimbursements because the large battery is allowing so much of the mileage to be done for around 2 or 3p per mile but get it paid back at 14p.
