company of heroes game&xfx 8800gtx cd

bought the xfx 8800gtx v/c,and the pc game Company of Heroes came with the card.
trouble is(i have winxp pro32)the dvd/cd liteon writer,wont open the dvd up.
i get a message that Windows cant read the dvd.
the dvd writer opens up my other dvds,and cds.
Is this game only for win vista?

having just checked the back of my CoH Gold DVDs, i can confirm that the game is Vista and XP compatible...

try restarting your PC. mine did that after heavy sessions of DVD burning, and a restart fixed it

try a different drive if you can and if it works on that then try burning a copy for use on your pc.

I have experienced in the past that certain dvd's have copy write protection built into the disc that make it impossibe for certain dvdrw not being able to read them, i experienced this with quake 4 and Graw2. I tried the copying of the disc though the program installed, the disc would not allow the game to play (this was before i knew of no cd fixes) my solution was to purchase a bog standard dvd rom for about 11 quid.

have tried restarting comp,but no luck.
this the first time my writer has failed on opening a dvd or cd.
There are 2 dvds disks,but none of them will open up.
so it looks like i have lost out on this game,such is life,maybe there is a copy protection on them,but they should still open up.
