I recently purchased COH and its expansion OF via steam and have an interesting conundrum. My friend did the same and has a similar problem to me. Since purchaing the gold pack (both the original game and expansion) I have installed both via download and clicked on OF to play. It started up fine and had no issues whatsoever (thank goodness) altho the problem that arose is thus:

When clicking on COH to play, it automatically loads up OF. COH is seen as a separate game in my steam game list but it just will not load up even tho it is according to steam 100% ready to play and just loads OF instead.

My friend has exactly the same issue but the other way round, he can play COH but not access OF even when he clicks on the OF link in his game list.

Has anyone else experienced something similar to us with COH and OF via steam? It's not so bad for me as I at least have access to the new add-on forces (the brits and panzer elite) whereas my friend only has access to the original US and Vermacht forces.

Tres weird!

OF takes over the original CoH, as the original CoH is no longer supported.

i think what you guys need to do is get your keys added via the Relic Online account section, and if everything works well, you should be able to launch up OF, and still play CoH by having CoH's options open to you...

have you also installed all the patches? i know there's a huge list of patches that needs downloading...

note, though, that this worked for me in the retail version of CoH Gold...

Steam... Hate it.

I had the same problem i couldnt play the original coh, means i couldnt play as american or german, or play the invasion of normandy despite buying gold.

In the end i purchased the gold box set, doesnt need steam so is more reliable and there seams to be a lot more servers.

Im currently trying the get my money back off steam...

As iceblade says, on the account screen that comes up when you first load the game (or click account in the top right), you can add a serial number on there. Because you got it on Steam though, it will check your account and then link the two.

Apparently you have to register your products individually at THQ and create an account at their site to be able to fully access your games. My mate just tried this and can now access both COH and OF.

Useful bit of info that in case anyone else has the same problems in future!

i bought COH non steam, and bought OF with steam, i got onto the case with relic, and they merged my keys into one account for me, so now when i load OF through steam, i get all 4 teams

was pretty painless, had to scan my COH box, cd & manual (cd key) for them
