Company of Heroes Problems

Just purchased company of heroes gold and when i load up the game my monitor goes into power saving mode. My native resolution is 1920x1080 and ive tried changing it so i can get in the game then change the resolution in game but that doesnt work. The game runs properly as i can here the intro and the menu noises but i need to work for my res.

It did it with the demo but i sorted it by changing native resolution and then changing the resolution to 1920x1080 in game and then changing back my native after.

Cant get that to work though with the actual game.

*EDIT Ahhh forgot to mention i bought the games in steam*

I'm not sure if the steam version is different or not, but if it is, you could try navigating to the My Documents folder, and then:

My Games/Company of Heroes/

In here there should be a file called configuration.lua

Open this and find the lines:

{
setting = "width",
value = xxxx,
valueType = 2,
}

and also

{
setting = "height",
value = xxxx,
valueType = 2,
},

Change xxxx this to your monitors native resolution.

I assume there should be a similer file with the steam version in the steam directory if it's not in the my documents folder.
 
Doesnt have a folder located in my documents and the file cant be found in the folder in the steam apps either. Must be a config somewhere that lets me change this.
 
Nah its cool!!

Just very weird that the same problem happened when i was using the demo but i could correct it.

There must be a config file that i can adjut so it will run properly.
 
IS there any way i could let the game load up and using the keyboard alter the resolution to what i need?

Someone would have to give me the keystrokes
 
Ahh brilliant managed to sort out the config file and now everything is running good!!!
