I realise this may not be the best place to ask but this one has me baffled and google has been no help, here goes
I've been given a compaq presario c300 laptop to fix, I first saw it a few months ago, did a basic cleanup, sent it back, no problems.
Then it comes back with major hard drive issues and also a problem with the keyboard, so I yoink out the hdd, re-install windows, fine.
but it still has a problem with the keyboard. The keyboard works fine at first, press f10 to get into bios, move about, select this, select that, no problem. But when you leave bios it stops working, not a peep, and nothing out of the touchpad either. It doesn't seem to be a windows issue as I tried booting from an ubuntu live cd as well as UBCD, no joy.
A usb keyboard or mouse works fine but it looks like the built in keyboard stops working as soon as any kind of operating system kicks in.
This has me completely baffled as I can't see any option in bios that would affect the keyboard and I've reset it to default settings as well.
any ideas?
