Hi,

One of the computers at my workplace is a Compaq CQ2930EA, with 4GB of RAM installed. Running Windows 10 64-Bit.

I would like to install a bit more RAM, but I'm unsure which RAM I need to buy and how much it will accept/be recognised.

Some memory upgrade sites say the computer will accept/recognise 16GB on a 64 Bit system. But on one page on the HP website it says the maximum is 8GB.

I could just buy some memory of one of the upgrade sites, but I'm thinking if I can identify what I need etc I might be able to get the memory cheaper elsewhere.

Any ideas if another 4GB is the most I can upgrade by? And which memory I need?

Thanks

:)

  • Single channel memory architecture

  • Supports DDR3 uDIMMs
    • PC3-8500 (1066 MHz)
  • Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit* systems
  • Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit systems
But system specs,
Processor information
  • AMD Fusion E1-1200 (Zacate) Dual Core processor soldered down on the motherboard
  • TDP: 18W
  • Socket type: Not applicable
Ask yourself, is it really worth it, its a sheep in wolfs clothing?

It's only a computer for running our online business, so won't be buying a new one. Was just wondering how cheap I could give it a quick boost. Because it does struggle when I've got numerous browsers open etc.
