Compaq Laptop + Windows

My brother got a Compaq laptop for Christmas (Presario CQ56), and it's one of those jobs where they don't provide the disk or serial number for Windows, and load the laptop full of crap software no one wants or needs.

Does anyone have any idea how to aquire the serial code?

Isn't there a key on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop?

it might be in the battery tray remove the battery and have a goosy

You can normally burn the recovery media from an installed application but it will be installed with all the pre installed stuff after a recovery...

this is what i did after i made my recovery disc (image of disc w/e) on my mini 311 mabe u can do something similer

it brought my running processes in taskmanager from 53 down to 23

would this work on the same basic principle with other netbooks? Just purchased the Acer Aspire One D255 (Dual Core N550 @ 1.5GHz) and Acers are known for their jumbled crap on their computers. So i just make a recovery disc, format the HDD or something and then bobs my uncle?
