Compaq Presario V5000 problem

I was given a Compaq Presario V5000 from a friend who found it while working emptying skips lol.He said the screen isn't working so,he gave it to me.The problem is when you switch it on the screen comes on but soon as you touch it the screen will get lines down it like faint green and red,then go black,i find if push the top corner from the back towards me and the right top corner away from me the screen works fine and i move the screen up and down and it doesn't go off.I opened the lappy to see for loose wires ect but everything looked fine,Anyone got any ideas of what it could be?
