Compaq vs Advent Laptop ??

Hi all,

We've decided to take the plunge and buy a laptop for general home use - we've spied two available, with roughly the same spec:
1.66GHz processor, 667MHz FSB, 2Mb cache, 80Gb Hard drive, 1Gb RAM, Wireless enabled.

One is from Compaq, one from Advent - the Advent Laptop is £50 more expensive.

Is it worth the extra cash ?? Or should I stick with Compaq ??

All comments / suggestions welcome.

advent brand name is the dixons group own brand, it usually works out to be better value, but as the two machines are the same spec the compaq is less expensive i would go with the compaq, seems silly to spend extra money on the same spec machine, which model numbers are they?

Thanks for that - the Compaq PC is the C310; against the Advent 8111.

I've used Hi-grade in the past which is basically advent. I'd honestly say stay clear. I've used two of them in the last and had nothing but trouble.
