Compare and contrast - which CPU is best and why?

Are you limited only to those two?
I'd say, go for different tier, piledriver 8320 + good cooler and oc.
Only 20£ more than the ones you linked.

I'm asking mainly because I'm wondering how the Trinity differs from the Richland. I'm assuming that the Trinity is newer, that's how it can have slightly lower GHz yet the same price.
Just wondering how they differ. Which is best despite the 0.10 difference in Ghz.
Besides, if I got a Piledriver I'd need a graphics card, and I'd want a good one. That would push the price up significantly.

Mainly just curious.

You wouldn't necessarily need a graphics card, some AM3 motherboards have on board graphics as well as working with Bulldozer chips.

The Richland is newest, but note that it is an A8, the Trinity an A10 (there is also an A10 Richland)

They both contain the same CPU cores, the Richland runs at a slightly higher clock, so is very slightly better in this regard

The iGPU (integrated graphics) is what you pay for by going for an A10 over an A8. The A10 has "384 radeon cores" compared with the A8's 256. The A8 Richland runs at a higher clock speed, but graphics performance is below the A10-5800k.
