compare video quality

Just bought my wife a Nikon D3300 but we already have a Sony HDR-HC7E Handycam. Do you guys think the video would be better than the new camera or would it be worth keeping the Sony?

The video output will almost certainly be better quality but the usability of an slr for video is naff without extra kit so I'd keep the handy cam I much prefer using my wife's compact for video over my slr!
