so people. finally getting around to building a new pc for myself in this country and after doing a cursory examination it seems i may be better off getting this

components

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K
CPU Overclocking: 4.3Ghz - Extreme Overclock
CPU Cooler: NEW! Corsair H55 Water Cooler
Operating System: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Motherboard: NEW! Gigabyte Z97X-SLI
RAM: 8GB Corsair 2133mhz Vengeance (2x4GB)
M.2 Super-fast SSD: NEW! Crucial 120GB M500 M.2
Hard Drive: 2TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 4GB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Internet: Wireless 802.11N 300Mbps MIMO PCI card
Case: NEW! Corsair Carbide Spec-01
PSU: NEW! 650W Corsair CS Modular
Keyboard and mouse: Gigabyte Force M7 Mouse and Force K3 Keyboard
Warranty: 3 Year

i already have a screen so that knocks 100 off making it 1010.50 with the extra hard drive and wifi i need.

ill be using it for gaming and autocad based 3d modelling.

so my question is, is there a cheaper set of components with same or better specs? when i added each one to overclockers uk individually it came out to a couple of hundred pounds more.

cheers for all the help

Tom

buying parts separately on ocuk is about 130 more than the pre built system. via the partpicker link it came out to about 100 more. for once it seems a pre built has a good deal compared to self built.

huh, apparently i did not :) all this is sure to be compatible? just want to be sure :)

also i figure in the future i might need to add in an extra graphics card. would i need a more powerful psu? not a dealbreaker just wondering

its done, finally ill be able to game again. my little freebie mac really just cant cut it.

two thumbs up and a hearty handshake to stulid, saved me 100 quid. essential as a student.

so i built my system today, upon installing windows it crashes after the first reset with CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT. since it cant be a driver issue as its a complete new build and fresh install it seems the common problem is a faulty core on the processor. any suggestions? i've contacted ocuk as well but i'm not sure about response times
