Comparison pc v laptop

hey guys quick question i have the following ageing pc and was given a laptop for bday pressy can someone tell me if it is better than the pc for gaming the specs for both are

pc home made...............................laptop dell 1520
pentium 4 @ 3ghz...........................core2duo t7250 2ghz
vista home.....................................vista home
x800xpte........................................8600m gt nvidia
2 gig mem.......................................2 gig mem
300 gig hdd.....................................250 gig hdd

Laptop should be faster 8600 GT is faster the an x800, core chip is faster than a P4.

Not through gaming though, just the level loading.

That would surely also depend on whether it is a 4200rpm, 5400rpm or 7200rpm laptop drive. Overall the laptop should be superior although I don't know how good the screen is for gaming, it might be best to connect up an external monitor if there is any ghosting.
