I am going to upgrade my computer next week so thought i would ask to make sure all the parts will work together.

This is what i was thinking of getting:

Pioneer DVR-112DBK 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter.
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C5 800MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit.
Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R(Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB).

This is what i currently have and will be keeping.
2x160GB Sata.
1x80GB IDE.
7950GT.
450W power supply.
Audigy 2 ZS.

Oh. I will not be overclocking anytime soon and was thinking of making a Raid 0. I mainly play games and very rarely do more than 2/3 big tasks at the same time.

For the price of that expensive CPU, you could clock an e2160 to 3GHz and get an 8800 GTS. Something for you to think about, as your current rig will struggle with top games at high res, and the e6850 will be bottlenecked by your GPU.

you are propably right but my graphics cards makes games look plenty pretty enough for now. And as i would prefer not to upgrade my CPU etc... for a few years i figured it was best to get a top notch one again. Then in a few months time grab a new graphics card.

Then you should get the cheapest quad core you can. All the e6850 is, is a highly clocked dual core. Why not do that yourself and save some money?
