compatable dock for ipod shuffle?

i am thinking of getting my mum an ipod shuffle for mothers day and also a small docking station, so it can be situated in the kitchen.

my question is.
can i get any dock or do i have to get a dock especially for a shuffle?
or is there an adapter so i can connect the shuffle to a dock?

I don't think shuffles have a dock connector so you would need to buy a nano.

Shuffles do not have a dock connector, so failing just using a regular phono cable I would opt for a Nano.
