Hey Guys, last month I bought a new 660 GPU for my rig, this month its RAM time. My mobo is an Nvidia EVGA nforce 78i SLI so I'm stuck with DDR2 unfortunately, I currently have 2Gb of Nvidia OCZ RAM (Which apparently is specially configured to work more effectively with the nForce mobo??) but I'm considering 2 of these beauties as a replacement:

Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel

RAM really isn't my thing so just wondering if these will be alright for my machine??

I'm currently running windows vista with my 2Gb of RAM which I understand isn't ideal for games so definitely want 4GB or more. Next month it's an upgrade to windows 7!

Hi, thanks for the link, I've found the Kingston RAM with the exact same number on the compatibility list, the only thing that differs is the number and letter at the end. On the compatibility list it is 1G.. however on the ones I wish to buy they're 4G (4th Generation??) .. everything else in the model number is the same.

Is this major? As I cant find the 1G versions anywhere...

Thanks

Hi, the 780 do also support 4GB sticks so should work fine. But if you go for 8GB on this board you might need to increase the voltage higher then the manufacutrer state and might lower the timings a bit to get it stable.
