Hi there, I have been waiting patiently for new graphics cards to be released as I am still the owner of an AMD 9750 (which is now showing its age in more modern games such as the new total war).

I have been contemplating buying the MSI GTX 1070 to give my system a boost although I cant figure out if it would be compatible with my motherboard ( asus p8z77-v lx intel z77 ddr3 motherboard ).

I am also wondering if there is much of a size difference between the 7950 i currently have and the 1070 i am looking to purchase as the reviews have stated that it is a fairly large card (current case: Antec Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case).

I will be playing at 1080p and would love to purchase a gpu which will last for years to come at ultra settings, do you think the 1070 is a wise purchase for this purpose? Currently i have the intel i5 3750k at 4.4 ghz.

Any adivse and help is very welcome, thank you.

Edit: It appears to be smaller than the 7950, never mind the case space ;)
