Hi there, I got the ram and set it up but for some reason it's not going above 2406mhz

I have the exact same result with XMP on or off. Any suggestions?

Is the DRAM voltage not being set? It looks like 1.2v in your screenshot (the end is cut off).

What happens when you restart? Does it fail to POST and reset?

Those timings could be tightened up I imagine with that set, although the X3D chips don't notice that sort of things all that much if you can't be faffed.

I guess no because of the timings. True, it doesn't make much difference with a the 3D cache. I didn't bother to tweak my ones to the 3800Mhz I had with the 5800X

no i have the same kits there hynix dual rank sticks

are those Samsung B-die?
OMG Samsung B-die is so 2014..
Samsung was a best, but now most chips are good as the production as matured

i have my sticks set to XMP and running 4000mhz, i kep saying im going to mess with timings but x3d really doesn't care

Correct me if I’m wrong but Thaiphoon Burner isn’t 100% accurate?

I used it it to identify some RAM and it said Samsung B-die but it was in fact C-die which is much worse.

Still, a good start.

To be honest i have only used it a few times. Once when i got some 8-pack RAM, second time when i got the Crucial RAM and just now to do the example.

Worked ok for me, although i had to get the latest version today as the old one would not work. Maybe to do with being on Windows 11 now.

I heard that too. If I recall correctly, the rumour was that the die is pulled from a file rather than identified from the memory, or something like that?

Yeah, I think that’s what I understood too.

It’s not really that smart.

You can get more information by looking at Reddit posts that mention the entire model code of the RAM kit.

I think Corsair has version numbers which are their way of confirming the RAM type (Samsung c or b die, Hynix M die, etc) but even then, it may vary

The timings seem much looser on the newer DDR 4 stuff, I was surprised. I suppose they are all focussing on DDR 5.

Likely, enthusiasts who buy high-end stuff will have moved on, so maybe DDR4 is mainly marketed to OEM upgraders at this point.
