Hi , after 5 years with the same PC, a P4 3.06ghz with 2gb RAM and a 7600GT (sorrowful I know) I have decided to take the plunge and build my own system. After debating over the i7 and not being able to justify the dosh, I've cobbled together this Phenom 2 quad build instead.

Just hoping to pick your brains as to wether or not it will handle the latest games and photoshop work ?

I plan to whack in a 5850 at a later date but for now would be grateful if someone could give my build so far the once over to make sure it will all work together and that I am making the most of the components I have chosen.

Here it is :

Also is there an easier way to link from the shopping cart page ? I've seen people link clickable lists to products but I'm not sure how so have had to go round the houses and use photobucket !

Cheers in advance, Gary.

Looks pretty good, but I would suggest a couple of changes:

- Get the Retail version of the CPU, it is about £1 more expensive, is in stock and comes with a longer warranty.
- Get this RAM instead. Its the same price and faster.
-Get a faster HDD like this. The Green is a slow disk for quiet, low power storage - not pure speed and primary HDD tasks.

A 5850 would be a good card to get. It is super quick and will make mincemeat out of all modern games. However, with just the integrated HD 4200 graphics you will not be able to play many new games at good settings/framerates. However, the 4200 will handle photoshop fine, but may not support some of the GPU accelerated plugins.

Yeah it's definately in the pipeline. Is the processor fairly decent then ? I mean will it last a fair while before it struggles with demanding games ?
