Just a quick check, don't want alternatives. Would all this work OK together?

S939 Athlon 64 3000

1GB PC3200 DDR

Asus A8V-VM SE

Thanks.

Edit: Would it be better paying an extra fiver to go for 2x512mb to use dual channel, instead of just one stick of 1GB?

That will work fine together, is the CPU retail? If not you will need a heatsink and fan. It does give you a bit of a performance benefit (~5% I believe) to use dual channel so I'd go for 2x512mb matched sticks, something like these OcUK PC3200 would be suitable. :)

Sorry, just been informed it needs to be AGP (for a friend).

New spec:

Asrock AM2NF3-VSTA Socket AM2

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Retail AM2

1GB PC5300 Elixir DDR2 SDRAM

Actually comes out cheaper. Still OK?

I know nothing about the motherboard other than what I've just read but it is compatible with the rest, again though I'd pick two sticks of Ram for dual channel if you haven't already. :)
