Hey Im looking to build me a new computer and i had a question.

Im looking at the Rampage III Extreme for my motherboard. I want to setup 2 ATI cards in Crosfire probably gonna hold out for the 6950's after reading the thread in the Graphics card forum.

Im also want to use a Creative SB X-FI or ASUS Xonar Xense sound card.

From what i can see on the board the second PCI Express slot covers the PCI E slot i need to put the sound card in.

Would i have any problem putting the first Graphics card in the top slot skipping the second then the sound card in the PCI E then the next graphics card in the one below it. Would i still be able to set it up in Crossfire. Would the Sound card be in the way of the bridge?

SLI/CrossFire is supported using the 1&3 x16 slots. I use these for my 580s in SLI and have a X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty card sitting in x4 slot between the 2nd x16 slot and the 3rd x16 slot:

So you will be ok.

Awesome thats exactly what i was looking to do thanks a lot.

To me it appears as though you are using the Corsair Dominator RAM

I too was looking into uing that RAM however i read in a few different locations that the board sometimes doesnt read all the dim slots. Have you had that problem or has anyone else

I've seen some reports as well and there appears to be no root cause. I'm using this Dominator GT ram and have not experienced any problems. I can’t remember who has had problems in the main thread. Have a search in there. :)

Often the ram will not be picked up if the CPU cooler is over tightened. There are of course other reasons why this has happened but the uneven tension on the CPU via a over tight cooler has proved to be the main cause of one dimm of ram not being picked up.
