I thaught i should start a new thread,my concerns are that i have this memory-Corsair Memory 4GB (2X2GB KIT) DDR3 1333MHZ 240PIN DIMM (MPN: TW3X4G1333C9DHX).
i am changing my motherboard to MSI P55-GD80,having to sell ASRock at a loss.
I am concerned if the memory i have is compatible and whether i can overclock it.

still not sure

:confused:I have found on Corsair site this memory is supported but with 1.5V - http://www.corsair.com/helpdesk/ram_support_b.aspx
my Asrock Mb Bios doesn't have i.5v in DRAMV,lowest it goes to is 1.559V, Delivery for MSI P55-GD80 is tomorrow.
I have been having core 3 summout errors on prime95, and BSOD's on boot on first startup in the day, after the first BSOD it's usually ok.

I've been having problems running it at even 1.615v which is showing as default on the MB, 5 mins.
In OCCT and it would error in core 3,
On prime95 i get summout errors in core 1 and 3 although it carries on with the test, summout errors keep stopping either core 1 or 3 repeadetly.
I have just run a quicky 30 mins. OCCT with 1.559V , just to see, it has completed without errors.
I am going to up the BCLK gradually and see if all cores run at 1.559v.
I've been getting a nasty smell aswell while running only at 1.615v,like i'm over volting.

Have you tried running memtest? Also, have you taken the RAM as high as 1.65V or will it simply not work at this voltage?

Also, what are your CPU OC settings?

Yes, ran it earlier today,passed.
I am on CPU 1.11875V @2913Mhz running OCCT for 20 mins.
DRAM 1.559
Core 1.112
PCH 1.079
VTT 1.219
BCLK 146
CPU Ratio x20
Temps 43/41/41/43
no smells, 5 mins to finish OCCT
CPU-Z memory-728 MHz , NB frequency 2330.1 MHz
i'll increase BCLK again once this completes.

I must admit that I haven't OCed an i5 chip - but 1.118V @2.9Ghz seems like a little on the low side, especially for a relatively Voltage hungry chip like the i5. Perhaps you can up the CPU voltage if you see any more core errors.

Also, you are running your 1333MHz RAM at 1456MHz, If I were you - I'd scale this down if you are encountering problems in this area.

Thanks m8, i have had the CPU V up to 1.31 @ 3.55GHz but i can't remember if all the cores were running,i'll have to test again.
Is it better to be under..say 1220 MHz rather than over...say 1550 MHz..or 1150 mhz rather than 1440 MHz
With this ram i think i'll have to stay around 1.5v, is it worth selling and getting another set?

never thought i'd get this far!

I never thought this MB was capable of reaching 4.0GHz,Temps. didn't go above 64c @ load.
Since i changed the DRAM to 1.559v(the voltage onTW3X4G1333C9DHX is 1.5v)no BSOD,burning smell,errors in OCCT and Prime95.
I've been upping the overclock in BIOS EZ OC and adjusting dram voltage,
There is the issue about RAM,i've had it running under, 1220MHz @ 1.559v,
the other option was to run it over at 1550,i have to had keep Dimm v low,can anyone tell me how to overcome this.
I ordered a new mobo- the P55-GD80 MSi thinking that the Asrock mobo was
the cause of my troubles, the MSi arrives today,i don't see the point of changing mobo's now,£170 for MSi + £40 loss on selling the Asrock.
What do ya think Guys' .
