compatible ram for a 8440p

i want to increase the ram to its max of 8 gig and it runs 1333mhz as stock.

i have purchased corsair vengeance 1600 mhz thinking it'll alter to 1333 but my laptop will not boot with it in. i assume its the machine and the ram is not faulty.

whats the best ram to get for it as i assume it won't run 1600 at 1333 now.

It should still have the profile for 1333mhz, so it should work with the laptop. Was about to suggest trying the Corsair RAM by itself but it looks like the stock RAM is actually part of the motherboard... which will probably make it more painful finding compatible RAM. Do you have any idea what timings the stock RAM runs on? Could be due to that.

i couldn't see any profile or the ability to change the speeds in the bios.
samsung ram, 7,7,7,20 timings.
