Compatible z790 motherboard and RAM to overclock memory on Raptor Lake?

I'm building a new machine (not a gamer). My requirement is very fast single-threaded performance.

Probably getting an i7 13700K. I will be overclocking CPU and memory (reducing L3 cache miss penalty is important). Looking at DDR5 and 2x 32GB sticks.

However, I'm struggling to find a z790 motherboard. Apparently it's hit/miss whether the memory will be compatible AND if overlocking the memory will work.

I know EVGA Kingpin is the best (but it's very hard to find). Can anyone help recommend very good alternative motherboards and compatible memory for overclocking?

(and is it worth having cooling on the memory?)

Is Asus' Apex board out of consideration for you?

I could afford it but it's a lot of money. I'd need to understand how much better it is than £300-£550 boards (it seems to be about £650).
