still looking for a Q6600 but failing to find one for a decent price
how are these for compatibiltiy

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
Foxconn P45AL

and i already have 2x2GB ram
aswell as 2x1GB crucial

will they work?
is it a case of just plugging in and connecting up or will i have to go through any settings, i have only ever built one computer so cant remember

It will allow you access to the members market when you have enough posts and membership time, but it cant hurt to enable it.

Will work fine, if ram is same settings and speeds, if not it -could- be more of a phaff, but it's doubtable as it should auto-set in the BIOS.

It was just an "experiment" to see if he could access the members market yet, but i guess he cant, because he doesn't meet the criteria needed.

seems silly to buy a new board and cpu, when your current board will take nearly all chips.

it even accepts a QX6700 which has an unlocked multiplier because it is an extreme edition.

but at the mement my motherboard doesnt sopport much (with my bios), i am changining it but in a few months cant yet sorry. but i need to know what i need to see how much it is so you have helped a lot thank you

4gb is the standard these days, and for gaming, more isnt needed.
