Hey! I'm thinking of upgrading my PSU & GPU on the Dell Inspiron 545.

I was looking at that graphics card before the GTX 550!

I saw somewhere that it wouldn't run on a 430W PSU..?

The card requires 2 6 pin connectors. Does the power supply provide this? Sorry, I'm a complete noob at this hahaha.

Wait, the CX 430W provides only 3 molex, does that mean I will have a shortage of molex connectors for the rest of my machine?

It has 4 molex connectors which I'm assuming is getting used by my machine atm? Or am I totally looking at the wrong thing?

Ah I see. I'll take a look inside my machine later.

Assuming all four molex connectors are being used, I would need 3, Sata to 4pin Molex adapters. Would that be okay to do?

I'm pretty sure the components in my machine do not use SATA connectors as it's quite old and I haven't upgraded anything up to now.

As the CX 430W PSU comes with 4 SATA connectors, I was wondering if it would be safe to connect 2/3 of these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-053-AK&groupid=1929&catid=153&subcat=

Will almost certainly be find for running hard drive or CD drive, then you can use the in-built Molex connectors for the extra 6-pin PCIe.

On the PC World website it says the 6850 card requires Windows 7 Support. Does this mean it won't run on Vista?
