Does anybody know who have had interviews at Recipharm, Cramlington please?

I have a second stage interview on Thursday 9th December for a Mechanical Shift Technician.

Does anybody know what questions they tend to use so that I can be prepared for please?
 
What an extremely specific question for a first post.

I would imagine that the competency based questions will be related to the competencies that a Mechanical Shift Technician would be expected to have, which is a fair old stack of stuff to be honest:

You will have a number of responsibilities, including:
  • Risk based inspection, test & maintenance of mechanical assets
  • Carry out scheduled inspection, testing and maintenance of mechanical assets.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance work, statutory inspections, breakdown/reactive work within a hazardous area environment.
  • Maintain the efficiency of all processes by minimising downtime due to breakdowns, initiate and implement remedial action where required.
  • Carry out mechanical isolations and reinstatements
  • Fault find on complex mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with both scheduled and reactive work.
  • Participate in a continuous improvement environment in all areas of process team operations. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in the engineering aspects of process operations.
Teamworking
  • Work with other members of the Engineering team to ensure that the departmental objectives are achieved.
  • Work alongside safety, quality, production and other departments to ensure that the overall business objectives are achieved.
  • Attend Operational handover meetings at start of shift.
  • Complete a handover with incoming and outgoing Mechanical Technicians.
  • Work with and assist contractors as necessary.
  • Install and commission new mechanical systems in conjunction with a Project Engineer.
Health, Safety And Environment
  • Ensure that all engineering tasks are preformed safely by employing risk/manual handling and COSHH assessments.
  • Review method statements, risk assessments or work permits to ensure that appropriate for the intended tasks.
  • Ensure that all processes within the workplace are carried out safely, with due regard to the environment and in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure that accidents, incidents and near misses are reported accurately.
  • Ensure that the defined procedures are used for all activities.
  • Follow department/site procedures to help ensure that the tasks you perform do not adversely affect
    • The sites COMAH protection and mitigation measures.
    • The personal health and safety of yourself and others.
    • The environment
  • Apply risk-based Management of Change (MoC) to all mechanical modifications made on site
Quality
  • Apply the concepts of cGMP and other appropriate quality standards withing the Pharmaceutical industry to engineering activities.
  • Carry out all engineering activities in accordance with cGMP requirements
  • Complete planned and preventative work orders correctly including recording problems, route causes and actions taken to remedy the situation.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are compliant with quality requirements. Implement corrective action as necessary
  • Highlight any potential quality issues to relevant personnel.
  • Undertake housekeeping duties e.g. checking workshop area is clean and safe.
  • Work to current cGMP standards as trained by the QA department.
  • To understand cGMP practices and to take action as necessary to prevent GMP failures by raising Alerts
Training
  • Receive current GMP, Health & Safety, Compliance and environmental awareness training and refresher training as necessary.
  • Receive training in repair, maintenance and calibration of any new plant machinery and instruments.
  • Identify any additional training needs to be enable the role to be preformed at the required standard.
  • Ensure that training is obtained before any new operation is carried out.
  • Ensure full attendance to internal training schedules.
  • Ensue training records and EDMS document reviews are kept up to date and signed off.
  • Assist with cross training of new and existing personnel.
  • Assist with training of apprentices.
Ethical Accountability
  • Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Recipharm, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the Industry Code of Practice, Recipharm Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements); and demonstrate personal responsibility in applying these to all work undertaken.
  • Escalates any decisions, or seek the support of colleagues or management if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role
Environmental and Safety Leadership
  • To care for his/her own safety and wellbeing and the safety of others, and to co-operate with the company to ensure a safe place of work. Employees are therefore expected to:
    • Support and conform to Company safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment
    • Report any accident, incident or near miss, whether it be of personal injury or property damage
    • Assist in the investigation of accidents with the objective of introducing measures to prevent recurrence
    • Thoroughly read all safety documentation issued by the Company and comply with its requirements. Escalate any doubts or uncertainties to their manager.
Experienced Required To Carry Out The Role
  • Trade qualification in fitting or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
  • HNC Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in a Mechanical Technician in a COMAH/Major hazard industry.
  • cGMP/Pharmaceutical plant experience
  • Eng-Tech registered with IMechE
  • Effective communication, negotiation and technical skills
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills with a well organised and structured approach to work.
  • Demonstrable IT skills, systems used in this role will include Microsoft Office, ERP systems & EDMS
