Right guys this is a real serious competition because first of all you need to be extremely talented with graphic design and skilled in Adobe suite of products. We will be doing future competitions that are not based on graphics design to make it fair for all, but this one is something very special and the winner will also see their work been put to use on OcUK website. Now imagine adding that to your CV.

In order to win this you need to do the following


1. Design OcUK a landing page using Adobe/Macromedia software suites.
2. The Design will still need to have all layers easily accessible so minor edits can be easier made to the design afterwards.
3. The page needs to be no wider than 1000 pixels but can be as tall as one wishes.
4. The page will need to link to two of our best selling the systems, the Xenomorph and Predator.
5. The Theme needs to be Alien VS Predator (but anything similar nature will do) feature that clearly features the PCs.
6. For example ideally we would like to see the Xenomorph system on one side with an alien (xenomorph) crouched on top of the system looking to pounce onto the Predator System. The Predator system should ideal have a Predator next to it with it targeting the Xenomorph system with its laser gun pinpointed on the Xenomorph system, am sure you getting the idea here, but this is just an idea, feel free to come up with your own themes/ideas.
7. The systems must feature a lot of official Intel, NVIDIA and ATI Logos, this is important for us as a company, plus our own OcUK logo.
8. Remember the landing page needs to have the specification of the PC's and Sell price clearly visible with a BUY BUTTON, again layed so it can easily be altered at a later date.

Do we just have to make the page graphics, or do we need to slice and code it too?

The graphics is priority!

But it needs some very basic HTML, basically two links, one to the predator system, one to the xenomorph system. That is it!

Other things are we should be able to ammend description and prices ourselves.

Gibbo, does OcUk have permission to use alien and predator images? As I guess they will be copyrighted by the brand and from whatever source the images are taken from.

Someone good at photoshop can create their own very similar looking xenomorph and predators.

I wonder how much a graphic designer would charge for a bespoke landing page...lolz

Not a lot to be honest, we are also looking to employ someone to do this role as a full time job. Pay depends on skill level basically and other marketing experience they have.

An expert in graphics design would knock such a page up in 3 hours top, I could outsource this and probably get it done for less than £100.

Also looking at those red fans makes me want to switch out my green ones

Edit: Shame the Xenomorph picture isnt more similar to the other one.

The pictures are just examples, ideally you should be taking images from the Antec site, then photoshopping the fans into the case etc. get my drift.

expert designer asked to make two non-copyrighted alien lifeforms and build a freely client editable page would cost a lot more that a ton.

I beleive the three dot lazer is also trademarked - might want to have another think about this before OcUK get a letter from the lawyers.

As an alturnative a green tribal type logo (driping mucus) and a red one (with three black dots) might be a better direction - just a thought

Were open to ideas, so design away. Yes creating an alien or predator type creature from scratch is a lot more time consuming agreed, but the idea you have is also a very valid and much quicker method which could work just as well.

I'm no graphic designer but i thought i'd have a go for practice. Probably couldnt be used due to the images anyway Sure someone will blow this away in due course!

Thats very impressive m8, were gonna look into copyright, but remember you don't need to use Aliens and Predators, could always be something of a similar thing, or just like red and green gooo dripping of the systems.

Something I would say, make sure the systems have the specification main points, then price beneath that and finally each system should have a "BUY" button.

Longtime reader, first time poster. Thought id start with this for a first post

Haven't used photoshop in a while, but here's my afternoon's tinkering.
Was going to add "in-game, no one can hear you scream ..." but thought that would be too much lol.

So any and all actual references to the films have to be removed now?

Its best to do two, one with and one without. As we shall be looking into the copyright issues hence best to do two as if we can use them or get approval we shall.

Any idea how often there will be competitions? They are rather fun! Though I'm afraid I'll be pretty useless at all of them

*edit* Teabag you seriously need to change yours, if you get the naming right then you have a 95% chance of winning!

We'd rather base our competitions on quality and not quantity.


So again expect the next one to feature another great high-value price and expect them to be once or twice per month.
