finally, decided to cancel my order with a competitor, they were absolutly rubbish, the headset i wanted to buy was £2 cheaper so i thought, i may as well buy with them, but they were crap, the had run out, so they posted a date that more were coming, it reckoned 5days, so i went along with it, checked 5days later and its not expected till 26, that is 1 hole month after i ordered them  so i cancelled the order and bought from OcUK, after all it was only £2 in the first place. OcUK said they only had 1 left, hopefully they do, because i ordered them and when i refresh the page it still says they have 1 left :S, anyone know how to find out, its the logitech premium stereo headset

so, the moral of the story, if it costs less, then the service is crap!!!

p.s., seen as im saying how bad a competitor is, can i name them ;)

I wish we could name and shame, a friend of mine ordered from a competitor 6 weeks ago,and he`s had nothing,no one answers his mails to their "support" team, and when he tries to call them, he gets a discontinued tone on the phone, yet, the site is still online and taking orders. And he paid extra for next day delivery!!

paolo - man that's really bad. Make sure he reports them..! Find out their registered company address (companieshouse.gov.uk webcheck thing) and drive over there and pop a cap in their ass! :D

Hopefully you get that last one, nipple

I`ve offered to drive down there and administer some genuine Sicilian arbitration :D .I`ll look into the companies house thing mate .Thanks

Well, 2 sides to every story, but unfortunatly in regards to the rules of the forums you cant speak your mind on here, not like the other 10+ major computing forums their is but rules are rules! :) What does the word competitive mean? anyone know?

Allow posts that "attack" competitors and you open yourself up to a slew of lawsuits and potential court cases.
It is not in OcUK nor their customers best interest to allow such discussions.

Cant put a lawsuit on you for telling the honest truth though, especially when it comes down to prices.

Wrong. Truth can still be libellous and is not an automatic defense.
You have to remember that the Dons are unpaid for their work here and it's much easier to have a blanket ban than allow exceptions.

Truth can't be libellous, as long as you can prove it, but yes, it's just not really worth the risk from our point of view, especially when certain aspects of any allegation are personal opinion rather than fact.

So no you can't name them.

Jokester

Sorry!, i had no intention of naming anyone, all i said was it`s a shame that the particular competitor couldn`t be named.I didn`t mean to open a can of worms :(

Ok, take for instance this - their is a website that does price comparatives for computer hardware etc, the only websites that are included are those that request to be included on the actual website itself, I guess they get some sort of advertising premium for linking to their website thus how the website itself makes money - now people using that will most likely check the prices of all the items they need & then purchase either from a) the one that provides the cheapest overall or b) taking into consideration delivery costs purchase from various suppliers.

Now that isnt libellous, but what if someone compared all prices by creating say a perl script & published them on various websites, not sure if this can be done because I've never used perl? This would have course be beneficial as well as harmful to suppliers because every supplier has cheaper & more expensive competitive prices if you can call it that.
