Hello guys,
I'm a little worried about this trend. The trend that shops are now taking away your chance of a "good chip" , and pre-selecting the good from the bad, while of course charging insane amounts of money for a decent chip.
Example, 899 (!) pounds for an i7700K that clocks well, instead of 329 pounds. That's a 300% markup .
Buying from oc.co.uk basically means you HAVE to pay a lot more, because if you don't , you KNOW you get a DUD.
In the process customers get shafted, our overclock chances reduced to zero because shops are buying chips in large quantities and pre-selecting them themselves in order to price gauge.
Even a chip that will barely overclock will cost you 100 pound extra ! (a measly 0.5 ghz OC = 100 pound extra)
Again i say, what if i buy a normal chip for normal price ?
I can be certain it's a DUD !
I am worried about this trend. Stop taking away overclocking from us (and price gauge us in the process)
I also can not imagine Intel would be very happy about this development. I understand the high end chips are not that important for them in the grand scheme of things, however i wonder, is it even legal what overclockers.co.uk is doing ?
NOT TO MENTION PRE-SELECTING CHIPS ON BATCH/STEPPING and basically charging **** tons extra for a good batch/stepping !!!!
