So your admitting there is something on your machine that is causing this then?

Im not saying your a cheat, Im just saying there seems to be more to this than your letting on. Most other people would just backup their documents, reformat and then carry on.

PB is a memory scanner. Ive been kicked from codUO for having Rivatuner running to monitor the GPU temp while playing.

p*** poor anti cheat system.

jeeze mate, :p you seem to be not quoting the part where i said ''Im not good with words'', what im saying is.....if i get a new cd key it will still kick me because nothing has changed apart from the cd key, the cd key isnt the reason its kicking me.. gah i cant explain it god dam ;)

no, you back up your personal stuff like mp3s documents / save games and such
but i very much suspect that if you are genuine, there will be something residing in your windows directory belonging to some piece of malware or something that got installed along with something else or slipped in the backdoor on the net. This piece of malware is intereferring with punkbuster. The reason they've got a list of games you've cheated on is because this piece of software continually resides in your PC

The link somebody gave with the same detection had people posting their replys from evenbalance. they didnt investigate it, just listed the date and time of the infection and said tough ****. But that link did contain some info, the hack your being detected with is something that is blocking punkbusters scans of the game dirs. It may not be a cheat, but it behaves like it, so they ban you.

To the people who say they cant do this. They can. With on-line access they are the judge jury and executionner as they only ban you from Punkbuster protected servers. This is entirely voluntary for the server provider to do. Its not compulsory.

You have about as much chance of complaining this ban is unfair on legal grounds as you have of complaining about not being able to enter passworded servers.

this is why you need to reformat. Because whatever is on your system that is interfering with PB is still there. Like i said, there are 3 possibilities here

1) its a piece of malware you probably wont find, as evenbalance dont seem to be helping with what file it is thats doing it
2) there are cheat files installed on your PC, that were installed by someelse else without your knowledge. Does anybody have access to your PC (brother etc.. ?)
3) there are remnants of a cheat on there, and you/somebody else removed the cheat but didnt manage to remove it all.

the way to resolve all 3 is to reformat.

PB has noway of knowing if an injected overlay is not hack. it is down to RT make it work just like FRAPS & XFIRE
 
PB is just a very poorly coded piece of software. No cd cracks are detected as hacks when they arent etc, I think its a joke that they're allowed to continue putting it in games

its not poorly coded, its just easy for other 3rd party pieces of software to act like cheats

i mean c'mon a no CD crack fundamentally modifies the .exe to change the game code. If its going to use unauthorised methods to mess around with the game code, of course its going to be picked up as a cheat.

Same goes with the rivatuner thing. its injecting things on top of the game screen. How is it supposed to do know exactly what its injecting onto the screen ?

Well maybe the developers should know about ATi Tool, ATi Tray Tools and rivatuner since, amazingly the whole dam overclocking community uses the bloody things.

I for one wouldn't stop ATT just for PB :rolleyes:

Luckily I stopped playing FPS a few years ago.

im with Evenblance on this, they simply cant make sure that every enthusiasts tool doesnt get detected as a cheat

They could have a team of hundreads researching all the various tools used by overclockers / system tweakers etc.. and not cover everything

the onus is on the application provider to make sure it doesnt get detected. Like Xfire.

The problem is that because its an overclocking tool, they dont give a damn if it gets detected as a cheat in computer games and wont amend their code.
