Strange you mentioned FEAR. I really enjoyed the game, I didn't warm to Stalker much. It looks a bit dated, the models weird and the game ran like a dog. My favourite game from the bunch so far is Far Cry 2. I know it got a bad rap on here, but I turned up all the sliders and the game looks and run beautiful. The gameplay is fun as well.

Stalker has many performance optimising patches out now, and the modding community has helped it become a very enjoyable experience.
