Looking into the easiest way of setting up a web presence for my girl friends dad, who has a business and would like to offer sales on his site. Currently Ive put together a few pages that he can edit, but want to take it a bit further to add the facility to buy products.

Hes come across http://www.actinicexpress.co.uk/ which according to him is quite straight forward and seems to offer what he needs.

Anyone any experience? The demo store is shockingly bad from what I can see, but there are some customisation options available.

I could build something myself given the time, but thats one thing I dont have much of at the moment. If there is a reasonably cheap solution thats easy for him to manage, that would be ideal.

Any other options or recommendations? Bonus points if it includes payment processing.

Oscommerce, Zen Cart (a fork of oscommerce, supposedly better) - both those have huge communities - www.oscommerce.info - you can find out / do practically anything with them.

The only problem is that in terms of programming Oscommerce at least is pre-historic.

You get what you pay for really and in terms of the paid systems...Actinic is popular but it's a total mess whereas X-Cart seems a lot more modern and is quite popular, too.
