Hey,
This is, as the title suggests, a complete punt. My PC has been down for a while, after it suddenly shut down immediately, now it isn't even posting. I've tested the mobo, which is good. I've taken the mobo out and put it back in, and re-seated everything, so it's not shorting. Everything is getting power, so I guess it's not the PSU. It isn't the VGA, as I get the same with a different card. I've removed the optical drive and HDD, and no change. All this leaves me to assume that the CPU is fried (I did overclock).
The thing is, it is an i7 920 D0 and I have no means of testing this as I cannot get hold of another LGA1366 CPU without buying one. Would anyone happen to have a spare compatible CPU lying around that I could use to test and make sure my assumption is correct? Of course, the CPU would be returned and I would cover all postage costs.
Thanks all.
